Fall-Proof Your Pout

Fall is finally here, even if it doesn’t quite feel like it yet in New York City. That being said, we’re officially transitioning our dewy, bronzed summer look into a sophisticated cinnamon hued palette. With falling temperatures (forecast permitting), however, comes dry flaky skin. If you’re like us, the worst part about dry skin is what it means for lips. Chapped, cracked, peeling, discolored- none of it is even remotely cute. Furthermore, dry lips can make or break a look, regardless of whether you opt for lip color or not. Fear not, dear readers, a luscious, hydrated, plump pout is within reach during the colder months. And the best part? It only requires two products, although we’ve also included some other fave finds to finish off your look.

The secret to Fall-proofing your pout? Step 1: exfoliate, step 2: lock in moisture.

Step 1: Lush Lip Scrub

  • This vegan lip scrub is good enough to eat- literally. With ingredients including sugar, jojoba oil, coconut oil, and salt you can buff away dead skin cells while moisturizing your pout. Once you’re finished, simply lick it away! While Lush offers a range of flavors, our favorite is Popcorn- which packs a buttery punch.

Step 2: Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask

  • One of my favorite finds of 2017 is Bite Beauty’s Agave Lip Mask. My dog approves too- every time I have it on, she goes straight for the mouth. Not only does it taste and smell great, however, it also transforms your lips overnight. I’m such a fan that it has since replaced my everyday chapstick. My lips have never felt better. If the lip mask is too heavy for your tastes, they also offer a lighter Agave Lip Balm.
